We check the gate every Monday.

Who we work with

Find your row. It'll point you at the page worth reading first.

  • Local service businesses

You're not in the map pack, your reviews are thin, and your address is spelled four different ways across the internet.

  • Online stores

Category pages that should rank don't, and Google spends its time crawling filter URLs nobody searches for.

  • B2B and professional services

You need pages that bring in enquiries from people who can actually buy, not just visits.

  • Our traffic dropped and nobody knows why

Start with a diagnosis. Free, or the full paid version if you need depth.

The bark list

What does the dog bark at?

Every plan includes this. Every Monday we run through the list below. If something fires, you get an email that business day saying what broke, where, and what we'd do about it.

Iron gate latch on a front-yard fence
  1. A page that used to get search traffic now returns a 404 or a server error.

When it barksWe tell you which page and since when, then restore it or redirect it to the closest match.

  2. A noindex tag or a robots.txt block shows up on a page that should be in Google. It happens a lot right after a redesign.

When it barksWe find what added it, remove it, or send your developer the exact line to change.

  3. Your SSL certificate is within 14 days of expiring, or already has.

When it barksYou and your host get the date in writing. If we have hosting access, we renew it.

  4. Redirect chains, redirect loops, or old URLs left with no redirect after a site move.

When it barksWe map them and cut every chain down to one hop.

  5. Two versions of the site answer at once: www and non-www, or http and https.

When it barksWe pick the one Google should see and redirect the other.

  6. A contact or quote form quietly stops sending. We send one test entry a week, where you allow it.

When it barksYou hear the same day, with what failed and where the messages were going.

  7. The sitemap is missing, throws errors, or lists pages that redirect or are set to noindex.

When it barksWe fix or regenerate it and resubmit it in Search Console.

  8. A key page's title, meta description or H1 gets changed or emptied by a plugin, a theme update or a well-meaning editor.

When it barksWe show you before and after, and put it back unless the change was on purpose.

  9. Core Web Vitals on an important template slip from good to needs improvement or poor in Search Console.

When it barksWe find the template and the likely cause. Small fixes are in your plan; bigger ones get a quote first.

  10. Someone else edits your Google Business Profile, like the hours, category or phone, or the profile gets suspended.

When it barksWe check the edit, revert it if it's wrong, and start the reinstatement request if needed.

  11. The number of indexed pages drops sharply in Search Console.

When it barksWe work out which pages fell out and why, before guessing at fixes.

  12. A manual action or security issue appears in Search Console.

When it barksThis one jumps the queue. Same business day: what Google says, and what we'd do first.

Alert

/water-heaters/ returns 404 since Monday 9:12. Was getting search clicks last month.

The fix is either part of your plan or we quote it before we touch anything. No surprise invoices for barking.

Search grows the way a tree does: one ring at a time. We'd rather tell you that than sell you a rocket.

How a month works

Four rings, from the inside out. Same order every month.

  1. Monday, week 1

Gate check. We run the bark list and fix anything that fired.

An alert email if something broke. Silence if nothing did.

  2. Weeks 1–3

The planned work for your plan: on-page improvements, articles, outreach.

Every change logged with the page it touched.

  3. Any business day

If something serious fires mid-month, we don't wait for Monday.

An email the same business day.

  4. Month end

The report. On Growth Watch and Full Watch, a call to go through it.

What broke, what we did, what moved, what's next, and what we need from you.

The first month is a little different. We collect access, take a baseline so we can compare later, and write a 90-day plan you can read in ten minutes.

A sample report

This is what lands in your inbox at the end of each month. Five headings, in this order, every time.

No "keywords ranked: 4,812". No domain-authority chart. Every line points to a change you can open and check.

Things we won't do

You'll hear a few of these from other agencies. Here's why you won't hear them from us.

  • Promise rankings or "page one in 30 days". Google decides rankings, and anyone promising a date is guessing out loud.
  • Buy links by the batch or hide sponsored ones. Paid links meant to pass ranking signals break Google's spam policies, and the risk lands on your domain, not ours.
  • Lock you into 12 months. Three months is enough to see whether we're useful. After that it's month to month.
  • Send a report padded with keyword counts. A number that big tells you nothing about whether the phone rings.
  • Publish unedited AI drafts under your name. A person writes and edits every piece, and you approve it.
  • Change your site without a list of what changes. You see the list first, every time.
  • Keep your accounts. Analytics, Search Console, Business Profile and Ads stay in your name, with us as a user.
  • Quietly work for your direct competitor across the street. If we already do local SEO for a direct competitor in your area, we'll tell you before you sign.
